EPISODE 14

Jackson turn to Bright and throws him a very harsh glare. In his eyes I saw something like…. Jealousy? No, I must be seeing things..

“Sit the hell down!” He said, his gaze averted to my cheek where James kissed. “And don’t fucking kiss her again!!” He said through gritted teeth.

Bright laugh and winks at me before sitting down.

“Johnson, serve the food” Jackson said.

He doesn’t even know my name.

“Her name is Mirabel, man” Bright corrects him.

“Mirabel”, Jackson whispers as if tasting the sound of my name from his mouth.

My name sounds perfect when he whispered it, I never knew my name sounded musical untill now.

I see Jackson from the side of my eyes, smiling in contentment.

This is the first time I’ve seen him smile since I came in yesterday. All I always see is him glaring or smirking.

After I serve the food, I step aside. I watch him put a spoonful in his mouth, praying that he won’t complain about this one.

Fortunately, he didn’t complain. He eats it silently.

As they’re eating, I quietly left to go upstairs to Jackson's room.

In the list of rules Bright gave me, I’m supposed to change his bedsheets and blankets now.

I walk into his walk-in closet and take out clean bedsheets and blankets. I remove the old ones and put the clean ones on.

I carry the dirty bedsheets and blankets with one hand and his dirty plates from last night with the other hand.

Then I head down.

Bright sees me struggling with the things, so he rushes over and help me with the bed sheets and blankets.

Jackson just stands by the dinning table, looking at us. His eyes following Bright's every move. We drop them in the kitchen and head back to the dinning.

“So…. Mirabel, you’ve done well so far. How about I take you out for lunch and teach you more?” Bright suggest.

I open my mouth to reply but Jackson beats me to it.

“Where are you taking her?” He ask Bright 

“It’s none of your business” Bright reply.

I know Jackson, he’s trying to deny the fact that he likes Mirabel, but as his best friend, I’m not going let him. I’ll provoke him to accept his feelings, and judging from what I’m seeing my plan is working.

He’s already getting jealous!!, Bright whispered to himself..

EPISODE 13

“I’m your boss not Bright. Now. Get. Out. Of. My. Room!!” His voice thunders.

I stand up and quickly run out of his room.

“At least he didn’t fire me” I said to myself.

I rush to my room fall on my bed. I didn’t know how tired I am until my back hits the bed, I set my alarm for 4am before I close my eyes and sleep off..

The next morning….

I wake up to the ringing of my alarm clock, I enter my bathroom and carry on with my morning business there.

After I’m done, I quickly head downstairs to the kitchen to prepare breakfast.

After much thinking, I decided to make fried yam, egg stew and cheese sandwich. I think I might have to write out meal timetable.

By the time I’m done, it’s 5:10am. I see Jackson coming down towards the dinning room. I quickly set his food on the table and step aside.

He gets to the table and sits down. My face starts to heat up in embarrassment, as last night scene flash in my mind.

“Go..go… good morning, Mr Mark” I greeted him. He doesn’t answer me, he just sits still.

I wait for him to start eating, but he didn’t. He just sits there staring at the food.

Doesn’t he like the food? Is it the eggs? Or cheese? Ugh! This guy is so hard to please.

Just then, the main door open and Bright walks in. He take long strides to the dinning table.

“Wow! This place smells like heaven” Bright said, he walks towards me and wrap his arm around my shoulder.

“Good morning, sweetheart” he kiss my cheek.

“Good morning, James. I didn’t know you’d be coming over for breakfast” I said.

I’m surprised that he is here this early.

“I’m always here for breakfast, this dumb head can’t eat without someone’s company” Bright said and Jackson clears his throat warningly.

Bright laugh, his arm still around my shoulder. He look around the table and turn back to me.

“Sweetheart, you remembered the rule about breakfast. Here, take another kiss for that,” just when he was about to kiss my cheek, a loud bang pulls us apart.

Episode 13

” Morning mom ” he greeted
” Morning baby ” mom replied
” Ella? ” he called and she smiled in return.
He turned to me but I focused on my food, after eating he walked to his car while I followed in silence.
Why is she quiet anyway? Desmond said in a low tune.

The drive to school was a really boring one since no one is talking to the other, immediately we got to school Julie went out of the car without looking back.
Is she ignoring me right now? Too bad.

(At school)

” Why are you guys quiet? ” Jack asked as we eat lunch together, Desmond stole a stare from Julie who only focus her gaze on the food.
” What do you mean? ” Desmond asked
” You and Julie,” He said.
” Are you guys fighting? ” Thompson asked.
” Of course not ” Desmond replied and look at Julie again but she wasn’t even saying anything.
Gosh, I'm the only one talking back,
” I lost my appetite, ” Desmond said and went to class.
She should have told me what I’ve done wrong, I hate this silence, he said.

” I know what is happening ”
He turned back and Jack smirk at me
” What do you mean? ” Desmond asked
” I know you have feelings for her, ” Jack said.
” I don’t ,” Desmond said sharply.
” Gosh, I can’t believe you don’t know what you want ” Jack said.
” I know what I want, and definitely not her ”, Desmond replied.
” We will see to that ” Jack said and punch my shoulder in a friendly manner.
Do I love her? No I don’t (Desmond said to himself)

” What do you mean by, you won’t talk to him? My friend Ella asked
” That’s what I'm going do until he tell me he loves me,” Julie replied and took a bite from her pancake.
” Are you sure this plan is gonna work? ” Ella asked.
” I don’t care, ” I replied.
” I know you love him a lot, he’s just proving hard ” She said and I smiled.
” We will see to that ” I smirk.
” See, he’s coming ” she whispers and I looked up. I avoided his gaze. immediately and focus back on my Pancake.

” Who made this? ” Ella asked.
” Desmond's mom” I answered.
” I love it,, can you bring more tomorrow? “..
” gosh, are you kidding me? ” I laughed.
” You said he have a sister ” Ella asked.
” Of course, she’s so beautiful and lovely, she also have same name as you ” I replied and remember Desmond kid sister Ella, with those cute dimples
” I'm sure you really like her ”.
” And she likes me too ” I winked.
” Awwn, how I wish Jack has a sister too, ” Ella said and covered her mouth immediately with her palm.
” What? You guys are dating? ” I asked.
” Uhm... I......”
” You kept this from me? ”
” I'm sorry Julie, ”
” No, don’t talk to me anymore ” I snapped.
” Julie, please ”.
” I can’t believe this, I thought we were friends ” I said.
”I'm  sorry ” Ella apologized.
” It’s okay ” I said.

Crazy guy, I don’t need your help. I will ask Ella to show me ” I said and walked out.
I heard him laughing, gosh that idiot.

" Hey Ella, I called waving at her, she smiled and ran to me.

Desmond walked out of his room and went downstairs, I really need to get a drink right now, he said to himself
He got the drinks and went into the sitting room..
” Hey ” I called almost in a whisper
” Jeez, you startle me ” Desmond said holding my chest
” Anyway why are you here? ” Desmond asked and sip from his drink
” I couldn’t sleep ” I said.  You? ”
” I couldn’t sleep either ” Desmond replied walking upstairs
” Where are you going? ” I asked.
” My room ” Desmond replied without looking back.
” Let’s go together ” I said and he choked.
” Why? ” he shouted.
” Just go on ” I smirk.
” No ”
” Then move ” I pulled him away and ran upstairs.
What is she doing right now? Desmond murmured.
” Hey, come back here, ” he said and ran after her immediately, but I was already in his room.
” You are unbelievable, how can you come into a guy’s room like that? ” he asked but I'm not even moving from the bed.
” Julie, I'm talking to you”
” Just sleep if you want,” I snapped and  he scoff.
” I will just sleep somewhere else ” Desmond said walking toward the door
” No,  never mind. I will leave ” I sigh and walked towards him
” Okay, you can stay ,” Desmond said and collapse on the bed
I  joined him immediately..
” Goodnight ” Desmond said;
” No bed time kiss? ” I asked
” Are you kidding me? You are not my girlfriend ”
” I will become one soon ” I replied and Desmond chuckles.
” In your dream ,” he said.
” Why can’t you just tell me you love me? I know you do ” I said and sat down.
” Just go on and sleep ” he said.
” No, tell me you love me ” I said and he sat down.
” You are crazy,  how can I tell you that when I don’t? ” Desmond said.
” You don’t love me? ” I asked heartbroken.
” I don’t ” he replied.
” Okay, that’s good. I’m going to bed,, goodnight ” I said and headed towards the door

Did I say something bad? I'm sure I don’t love her, she’s just a friend, Desmond whispered to himself
He closed my eyes as sleep took over.

NEXT DAY.

Desmond went downstairs after he took his bath and put on my uniform, he joined his family on the dinning.

EPISODE 12

I drop the tray I’m carrying on the table and begin to walk around.

Then I see a door, maybe it leads to his home office or even a movie theater. Maybe he’s in there watching a movie.

Wait… I take that back. Jackson Mark is not the movie watching type of person.

Maybe the door leads to his office, maybe he’s in there signing some papers.

Yeah. This sounds right!.

I open the door and excitedly step in and that was a very big mistake. I see what I least expected.

Standing before me, is Jackson Mark. He’s standing……. naked!!

“Ahhhhhhh!!”

Jackson is standing in front of me naked!!

“Ahhhhhhh!!” I screamed and quickly cover my eyes.

“Get out!!” I heard Jackson's loud voice commands.

I turn around and run out as if my pants is on fire. I close the door behind and released a long breath.

I stay in his room, waiting for him to come out of the bathroom.

Now I know that I’m officially fired. I’ve seen Jackson's naked body before, but that was totally different then we were wearing masks.

I smack my head. Why did I even think there will be an office inside his room. I’m so foolish sometimes.

I hear Jackson's bathroom door open, I quickly bow my head, nervously biting my lower lip.

I hear his footsteps coming towards me, I begin to take small steps back until my back meets with the wall.

I feel him tower over me.

“Raise up your head!” He said.

I shake my head. I can’t face him, right now. I feel blush taking over my face.

He puts his finger under my chin and raise my head up.

“Open your eyes” he said.

I slowly open my eyes. I see amusement in his eyes, but it quickly switch to anger.

“What are you doing in my room? And why did you come into my bathroom?” He asks, his arms crossed across his chest.

I bite my lower lip, thinking of what appropriate thing to say. His gaze lower to my lips, before he looked away.

“Stop bitting your lip and answer me!” He said.

“I… I… I.. ”

“I… I… I… What?!” He interupts me.

I points towards the tray of noodles and medicine I brought in with me, cause honestly I’m too scared to speak.

“Have you ever heard of knocking?” He asks.

I nod.

“Use words!!!”

He walks towards his bed and sits on it. He sighs and run his fingers through his wet hair, I can see his muscle through white T-shirt.

So yummy!! Wait… Where did that come from?. Focus Mirabel, you’re about to loose your job, I murmured to myself.

“This is the second mistake you’ve made. Do you wanna know what I hate most of everything?” He pause and studies me.

He clears his throat, then continue.

“I hate when people make mistakes. Johnson, right?” He asks.

“Johnson! Are you listening to me?!” He snap his fingers in my face.

“I so want to fire you right now. So If you want to keep your job, then you must know when and how to do things around here” he said.

“You can leave now”

“But sir, your meds” I remind him.

He just glance at them and turn away.

Hmm. Two weeks is not bad, I can make him accept his feelings then.

“Deal” Bright said and stretch his hand out for a handshake.

Jackson just stare at my hand strangely.

“What are you doing?” He asks.

“We need to finalize our deal with a handshake!” Bright said.

“Your childish makes me hate you more and more” he said with a small smile.

“You know you love me, don’t worry I love you too” Bright told him. Bright lean forward and kisses his cheek.

He pushes Bright away and wipes his cheek with a cute frown.

“Eww! Gross!” He said.

Bright burst into a fits of laughter and head towards the door.

“Mirabel, will come up with your meds” Bright told him.

“Don’t send her here,” he yells.

“I will, and be nice to her”

I know exactly how to make Jackson accept his feelings for Mirabel. I’ll make him so damn jealous, I’m so lucky I’m a flirt, I know it’ll come in handy one day, Bright said.

Bright comes back down with a wide grin on his face.

“So…. Am I fired?” I asked.

“Nope! Infact, you have to make him some noodles right now and take it to his room, together with his meds” Bright said.

“Are you sure he won’t kill me and bury me there?” I asked.

He laughs at my silly question.

“Quite the contrary. But I’ll tell you how he like his noodles”

I nod at him to continue.

“He likes it when his noodles are not overcooked, and please, please, please don’t make it spicy” he said.

“ok, I won’t” I reply.

He enters the kitchen and open a cabinet, he brings out a small box. He opens it and takes out some drugs.

“Always remember to give him this meds every night before he goes to bed, or else, I bet you won’t get a good night’s sleep yourself” Bright tells me.

Why the hell does he needs drugs to sleep? What is he, a vampire?! Oh no! I hope he’s not going to suck my blood.

“Now I’ll leave you at it” Bright said.

“Huh? Where are you going?” I asked.

“I’m going home. You don’t expect me to stay here with you guys, right?”

“So, your are leaving me here alone with him?”

” Don’t worry, darling. He won’t bite…. hard” with that Bright takes off.

I guess I’ll have to do this on my own. I carry the Mac and cheese and cornbread, I put them in the trash and I start to prepare the noodles.

After some minutes I’m done. I carry it and head upstairs, I knock on Jackson's door but no response. I open the door and step in the room.

Remember that paradise Adam and Eve lives in? Well, it can’t compare to this room.

It’s spacious and twice the size of my entire house back in Texas.

A big flat screen TV stood proudly on the wall, a big king size bed in the middle of the room.

The walls painted with dark brown color and the curtains are of cream color.

The room is cool and smells fresh. Everywhere is so neat, I don’t think I’ll do much cleaning in this room.

“Mr Mark?” No answer.

“Mr Mark!” Still no answer.

No, she’s going to use one of the guest rooms, Desmond said.

O.M.G Desmond, why did you do that?  I snapped at Desmond, while looking at Ella going upstairs.

" What if I want to come to you?  Desmond asked and smirk.

You are crazy, I jokingly said and slap his arm.

" Like you don’t want it, he said and went upstairs.

Hey!!! Won’t you show me the room? I ran after him.     

" You are too loud, he said..

Just show me the guest room. 

" It’s in my room , Desmond said grinning.

" You have to give me 1000 dollars, he smirk.

"2000 dollars for calling me crazy, Desmond said and entered his room.

Okay.  I'm sorry, Julie said and bite the lower part of her lips.

" I don’t need it,  he said laying his back on the bed.

So, you want 2000 dollars? Julie asked.

Yeah, he said.
