My Strict Housemaid (episode 12)

Episode 12

“Don’t tell me you want to matchmake them.” he asked.

“No, I’m going to warn her to stay away from Elvis so he doesn’t hurt her and do exactly as he says. I hope she lives through till I get there” she said.

“I don’t think she’s intimidated by him though” Pat said.

“You can’t say that….” She stopped talking and listening to the sound that was coming from our three year old daughter’s room.

“Your baby needs attention” she said to him.

“Isn’t she our baby?” Pat replied dreading to go to Lina’s room. She won’t let me off easily.

Jane stood up and packed our plates

“you don’t want our daughter disturbing the neighborhood, do you?” She ruffled my hair and gave me the don’t-argue-with-me look. “Good luck” she added

Pat gulped and walked slowly to their daughter’s room.

She stopped crying when she saw him and stretched both arms towards him with bright eyes “Flying” she called out my name.

“This is going to be a long night” he whined internally.

Elvis watched Lucy retiring back in annoyance and went to the kitchen to heat up the food. The only good thing about her stay here since three days ago is her food. I must admit, she has good cooking skills, he said to himself.

When he was done, he locked the shutters, the doors and switched off the lights before heading to his room.

He brought out his ex’s picture and studied her face. That has being his ritual every night for the past two years. It’s still surprising that someone he loved could become a beast yet he can’t find himself unloving her. He sighed and put her picture back in his wallet and slept, welcoming the nightmares that would follow as usual.

Next morning

Elvis woke up to the sound of his bedroom door opening.

He sat up quickly and watched Lucy pick the dirty clothes he had deliberately dropped on the floor.

“Glad to see you’re awake. Sorry for barging into your room that way because you could be naked but don’t worry, it’s nothing I haven’t seen. Now back to business, next time put your clothes in the laundry basket not the floor. You’re not a five year old for goodness sake!!” 

“Umm sorry? What’s your job? Why are you complaining?” he asked her.
